Our Story

Vivid Health began in 2011 with a simple mission: bring life-saving training to the communities that needed it most. Founded by Al Adams — a former paramedic, college educator, and EMT/Paramedic instructor — Vivid Health was born on the front lines. Al spent years responding to emergencies in underserved communities across New York City, and saw firsthand how something as simple as basic training could have changed the outcome of a call.

"Too many people didn't know CPR. Too many communities lacked access to the resources that could have made the difference between life and death. It wasn't just physical emergencies, either. Mental health support was scarce. Opioid overdose awareness was virtually nonexistent in the neighborhoods that needed it most. De-escalation training — the kind that could have turned fatal encounters into safe outcomes — was rarely available to the people who needed it. And healthy lifestyle habits, like proper nutrition and diet, were resources many communities simply didn't have access to."

What started as a CPR training company has since grown into a full-service health and wellness organization, expanding across a wide range of disciplines to meet the evolving needs of the communities and organizations we serve. Today, that mission is carried by a team of like-minded individuals spanning many verticals — from CPR and de-escalation training to wellness workshops, healthy living and lifestyle programs, and team building. Proudly certified as an MBE/DBE/SBE, Vivid Health is now trusted by NYC agencies, corporations, and community organizations across the city. But the mission hasn't changed: bring real, hands-on training and resources to the people and places that need them most.

Every class we teach, every certification we deliver, every program we run — it all traces back to that same belief: preparedness saves lives, and everyone deserves access to it.
